Sathya Baanu Jeevanba
She/They • PhD, Licensed Psychologist
I have a special interest in working with clients who are struggling with traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. My approach centers on the influence of sociocultural factors in people’s presenting concerns. I find that this approach helps clients better understand the nature of their symptoms. I’ve also helped clients explore their authentic selves in a deeper way whether it’s around gender identity, sexual orientation, racial, and/or ethnic identities. You can expect that space will be made for us to uncover parts of you that need room to exist and want to be tended to.
Often times, I find myself having discussions around self-compassion and curiosity to help us focus on parts of you that need tending to. My role is to collaborate with you to be self- explorative, allowing you to live more authentically you.
I realize it takes trust and safety to seek my support. I’ll be intentional with checking-in on how this process is feeling for you. I also encourage those who decide to take this step to begin therapy, to know you have agency in this process. You are in charge of your self-exploration and healing. If you feel stuck, I’m happy to help you through it.
