Julie D. Kohlhart

PhD, LPC, Licensed Psychologist

My approach is curious, warm, gentle, and challenging.

I believe therapy should be a safe place to explore yourself in connection to the world around you, and I use therapeutic tools that come from what research shows can work for healing and change.

I believe in considering the unique perspectives and experiences of each individual, and tailor the counseling process to your needs and context.

I also work full time teaching at a local university where I help graduate students learn how to be counselors and psychologists and hone their therapy skills.

My areas of practice include individual therapy for relationship and family issues, grief, stress, trauma, depression, addiction recovery, gender identity, and, anxiety or worry.

I have been fortunate enough to serve people who come from a variety of backgrounds, race/ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, relationship preferences, and gender identities.

Fees

I do not take insurance, but accept cash, credit or health savings account at the time of service. I charge based on a sliding scale (including consideration of gross income and number of dependents).
